But, even though the rumors and the Forbes article were out there, it wasn't until the release (and publicity tour) of BOMBSHELL that Lamarr's story truly caught the general public's attention. Meeks recorded his interviews (and they are frequently excepted in this Doc as are present day interviews with Meeks himself). There had been stories about Lamarr's inventor side in Hollywood for decades, but Forbes writer Fleming Meeks was the first to get Lamarr to publicly speak about it. In 1990, news broke in Forbes Magazine that Hedy Lamarr had secretly helped invent a patent that lead to the development of radio guidance systems during WWII.
